Yess! Ramadan ended and Bayram begun!

I came home from Turkey one hour ago (damn!) and I'm remembering the last days and all the happy and wonderful memories.

Bayram, the holy days after the fasting month of Ramadan, begun Monday ends today. Bayram is for the muslims, and all turks, like Christmas for us! Presents, lots and lots of food, even more sweets, drinks and hugs, kisses, hellos and laughter! These are the days when we gather with our families and celebrate! As I said in a previous post, we celebrate and honour especially the elderly. We kiss their hands and bow so that the forehead touches same place that was kissed. 

These are days of joy and warmth! Everybody you meet -family, relatives, friends, taxidrivers, neighbours... you greet them with the words I now greet you with:
